About the Role
We are looking for an experienced Chief Technology Officer (CTO) to lead our technology strategy, engineering organisation and digital transformation programme in Nottingham.
This is a senior leadership position for a technology-focused professional who can combine strategic thinking with strong technical leadership. You will work closely with the executive team to shape our technology roadmap, build high-performing engineering teams and ensure our technology infrastructure supports sustainable business growth.
What You'll Do
- Define and execute the company's technology strategy and long-term technology roadmap.
- Lead software engineering, IT infrastructure, cybersecurity and technology operations.
- Build, mentor and develop high-performing technology teams.
- Oversee the design, development and delivery of scalable software platforms.
- Establish engineering standards, development processes and technical best practices.
- Evaluate emerging technologies and identify opportunities for innovation.
- Lead cloud adoption, digital transformation and technology modernisation initiatives.
- Work with senior stakeholders to align technology investments with business objectives.
- Establish appropriate cybersecurity, data protection and technology risk controls.
- Manage technology budgets, vendors and strategic technology partnerships.
- Monitor technology performance, reliability, scalability and operational resilience.
- Communicate complex technical decisions clearly to executive and non-technical stakeholders.
What We're Looking ForRequired
- Significant experience in senior technology leadership, engineering leadership or a comparable technology role.
- Proven experience developing and delivering a technology strategy.
- Strong understanding of software development, cloud technologies, cybersecurity and IT infrastructure.
- Experience leading and developing technical teams.
- Strong understanding of modern software architecture and engineering practices.
- Experience managing technology budgets, suppliers and strategic projects.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder-management skills.
- Strong commercial awareness and the ability to connect technology decisions with business outcomes.
Preferred
- Experience as a CTO, VP of Engineering, Engineering Director, Technology Director or similar senior position.
- Experience leading digital transformation programmes.
- Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Microsoft Azure or Google Cloud.
- Experience working with Agile or DevOps environments.
- Knowledge of data, AI or emerging technology trends.
- Experience within a growing technology or digital business.

During your first 12 months, you will help establish a clear technology roadmap, strengthen engineering processes, improve technology reliability and security, and build a strong technology organisation capable of supporting the company's next stage of growth.
