Overview
We are seeking a dedicated IT Support professional to provide technical assistance and support to our organisation. The successful candidate will be responsible for resolving hardware and software issues, maintaining network infrastructure, and ensuring the smooth operation of IT systems. Duties
- Provide technical support to end-users via help desk platforms such as BMC Remedy, ServiceNow, or Jira.
- Troubleshoot hardware issues related to computers, peripherals, and computer hardware components.
- Resolve software problems across various operating systems including Windows, macOS, and Linux.
- Assist with network-related issues involving LAN, VPNs, firewalls, and other network infrastructure components.
- Configure and maintain desktop support environments ensuring optimal performance of computers and related devices.
- Support the setup and maintenance of operating systems and software applications such as Microsoft Office suite.
- Perform routine system updates, backups, and security checks to safeguard organisational data.
- Document technical procedures and solutions clearly for future reference.
- Collaborate with other IT team members to implement new technologies and improve existing systems.
- Communicate effectively with non-technical staff to resolve issues promptly while maintaining excellent customer service standards.
Experience
- Proven experience in IT support or desktop support roles within a corporate environment.
- Strong knowledge of computer networking concepts including LAN, VPNs, firewalls, and network security protocols.
- Experience troubleshooting operating systems such as Windows, macOS, and Linux.
- Familiarity with hardware components and peripherals troubleshooting procedures.
- Hands-on experience with ticketing systems like BMC Remedy, ServiceNow or Jira is desirable.
- Proficiency in using Microsoft Office applications and remote support tools.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain technical issues clearly to non-specialists.
- Knowledge of security practices including firewall management and antivirus solutions is advantageous. Pay: £31,420.00-£49,089.62 per year
