We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Support Worker to provide vital support to young people aged 16-17 in supported accommodation settings. Duties
- Build trusting relationships with young residents, offering emotional support and guidance tailored to their individual needs
- Develop and implement personalized care plans that address each young person’s goals, preferences, and developmental needs.
- Support young residents in managing their education, employment pursuits, and social activities to foster growth and self-reliance.
- Encourage positive behavior and conflict resolution through effective communication skills and proactive intervention strategies.
- Maintain accurate records of progress, incidents, and care activities using IT systems designed for care documentation.
- Facilitate engaging activities that promote social skills, confidence, and community involvement within the supported accommodation setting.
Qualifications
- Experience working with children or young people in a childcare or support environment is highly desirable.
- Strong communication skills to effectively engage with young residents, colleagues, and external agencies.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Basic IT literacy for maintaining care plans, recording progress, and managing documentation efficiently.
- Valid driving license preferred for supporting transportation needs or outings.
- Knowledge of child development principles and safeguarding policies is advantageous.
- A compassionate attitude combined with resilience and patience to support vulnerable young people through their journey toward independence.
