The Engine House (formerly The Angel) on Queen Street officially opens Thursday 24th September 2026.
We're not opening just another pub—we're creating one of Exeter's newest social destinations.
Whether it's afterwork drinks, weekend catch ups or late night DJs, The Engine House will be the place people come together to enjoy a great atmosphere, live music and unforgettable nights.
Following a bold contemporary refurbishment, The Engine House combines character, creativity and a vibrant atmosphere, transforming throughout the week from a relaxed city pub into one of Exeter's newest late-night venues. Expect quality drinks, live music, DJs and a buzzing weekend atmosphere.
We're looking for energetic, confident and passionate people to help bring The Engine House to life from day one. We're building a team that looks after each other, works hard, has fun and takes pride in delivering brilliant hospitality.

Previous bar experience is preferable, but attitude, reliability and a willingness to learn are what matter most.

Please Note
- Applicants must be 18 years or over.
- Evening and weekend availability is essential.
- Successful applicants must be available to begin training during the week commencing Monday 21st September, ahead of our opening on Wednesday 23rd September.
