Senior Community Care and Support Worker

The Role
We are looking for a compassionate, reliable, and experienced Senior Community Care and Support Worker to join our friendly and supportive team. This role combines hands-on care duties within the community alongside 8 hours per week of senior responsibilities, including supporting staff, completing audits, and participating in on-call duties.
As a Senior Community Care and Support Worker, you will be visiting people in their own homes and out in the community to provide high-quality care and support while also assisting the management team in maintaining excellent standards of care delivery.
Some things you might do:
Providing personal care including washing, dressing, and continence support
Assisting with medication administration and recording
Supporting with meal preparation, shopping, and household tasks
Supporting customers with activities and community access such as walks, cinema trips, appointments, and day trips
Promoting independence, dignity, and person-centred care
Supporting and mentoring new care staff
Completing senior duties including spot checks, medication audits, care documentation reviews, and competency observations
Assisting with updating care plans and communication records
Participating in the on-call rota to support staff and customers outside of office hours
Working alongside the management team to ensure high standards of care are maintained

Pay Breakdown
Your hours will consist of a combination of:
Care contact time with customers
Travel time between calls
8 hours allocated weekly for senior responsibilities
Participation in the on-call rota
Care calls are generally between 30–60 minutes, and we aim to keep travel distances and waiting times to a minimum.
Working Patterns
You will be required to work a mixture of AM and PM shifts each week. Shifts generally operate between 7am and 10/10.30pm. Rotas are provided in advance, with set days off where possible.
Flexibility is required for on-call duties, including evenings and weekends on a rota basis.
Company Car
Company cars are available for emergency use during shifts and include fuel cards. Mileage is also paid for use of personal vehicles.

Requirements
Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle preferred
Previous care experience essential
Senior care experience desirable but not essential as training can be provided
Willingness to complete training and ongoing development
Pay: £12.80-£20.00 per hour
