Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Kitchen Porter to support our busy kitchen team. This role is essential in maintaining a clean, organised, and efficient kitchen environment. The ideal candidate will be proactive, reliable, and eager to contribute to the smooth operation of our culinary services. Previous experience in food preparation or hospitality is advantageous but not mandatory, as training will be provided.
Duties
- Washing and sanitising dishes, utensils, pots, and pans to ensure cleanliness standards are met
- Assisting with basic food preparation tasks under supervision
- Supporting chefs and kitchen staff with organisational tasks such as restocking supplies and cleaning workstations
- Maintaining cleanliness of the kitchen, including floors, surfaces, and equipment
- Collecting and disposing of waste in accordance with health and safety regulations
- Ensuring all health and safety protocols are adhered to at all times
- Assisting with the organisation of storage areas to keep supplies accessible and tidy
Requirements
- Previous experience in a restaurant, hotel, or hospitality environment is desirable but not essential
- Knowledge of food preparation, cooking, or culinary practices is a plus
- Good organisational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to work efficiently both independently and as part of a team
- Flexibility to work shifts as required, including evenings and weekends if necessary
- A positive attitude and willingness to learn new skills in a fast-paced environment
