Job Summary
We are seeking a dynamic and compassionate Mental Health Team Leader to oversee overnight care and support within a dedicated mental health setting. This vital role involves leading a team of care professionals during night shifts, ensuring the delivery of high-quality, person-centered care for individuals experiencing mental health challenges. As a Team Leader, you will be responsible for supervising staff, managing care plans, and maintaining a safe, supportive environment that promotes recovery and well-being. Your leadership will inspire confidence, foster teamwork, and uphold the highest standards of mental health care.
Duties
- Lead and supervise a team of care staff during night shifts, providing guidance and support to ensure effective service delivery
- Oversee the implementation and review of personalized care plans tailored to each individual’s needs
- Ensure compliance with all relevant mental health legislation, policies, and safeguarding procedures
- Communicate clearly with team members, residents, families, and external professionals to coordinate care effectively
- Monitor residents’ well-being throughout the night, responding promptly to any incidents or emergencies
- Maintain accurate documentation of care activities, incident reports, and shift handovers using IT systems
- Support staff development through supervision, training, and mentoring to promote continuous improvement
Qualifications
- Proven supervising or leadership experience within a care home or senior care environment
- Strong communication skills to liaise effectively with residents, families, and multidisciplinary teams
- Knowledge of mental health care plans and safeguarding procedures
- Ability to use IT systems for documentation and reporting purposes
- Valid driving license preferred for travel between sites or community visits
- Experience in caring for individuals with mental health needs is highly desirable
- Demonstrated ability to supervise staff and foster a positive team environment

Pay: £15.00-£17.00 per hour
