MSS Ltd is an established private medical secretarial practice based in Bloxham, near Banbury. We support a diverse portfolio of private medical consultants and are committed to providing an exceptional, professional service to both consultants and patients. Due to continued growth, we are looking for a Medical Secretary or Trainee Medical Secretary to join our friendly, supportive, and professional team.
Role Overview:
As a Medical Secretary or Trainee Medical Secretary, you will play an important role in supporting our consultants and delivering a professional, compassionate service to patients. You will act as a key point of contact for consultants, patients, and hospital teams, helping to coordinate appointments, correspondence, and day-to-day administrative tasks. This varied, fast-paced role is ideal for someone who is organised, attentive to detail, empathetic, and able to remain calm and professional when managing competing priorities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Act as the main point of contact for consultants, patients, and hospital staff
- Maintain professionalism and calmness in a challenging and busy environment
- Prepare and manage clinic and theatre appointment lists
- Draft and manage correspondence, including referral letters
- Liaise directly with patients regarding appointments, follow-ups, and consultant instructions
- Manage incoming and outgoing documentation efficiently
- Ensure smooth communication between all parties involved in patient care

Desired Skills & Experience:
- Previous experience as a medical secretary is desirable but not essential
- Experience in a private clinic or hospital setting is an advantage
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to problem-solve and work effectively under pressure
- Sense of humour and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced team environment
