Role: Delivery Driver / Furniture Delivery Team

We are looking for a reliable, professional and hardworking Delivery Driver to join our salon furniture delivery team.
The role involves delivering salon furniture to customers across the UK, including salon chairs, beauty beds, backwash units, nail desks, reception desks and other furniture.
You will usually work as part of a two-person delivery team, so you must be comfortable with manual handling and working closely with another team member.
Depending on the delivery service booked by the customer, you may also be required to unbox furniture, position items inside the customer's premises and remove packaging.
This is a customer-facing role, so we're looking for someone who takes pride in providing an excellent delivery experience and representing our company professionally.
Key Responsibilities
- Drive company delivery vehicles safely and responsibly across the UK.
- Deliver salon furniture to customers' homes, salons and commercial premises.
- Work alongside a second delivery team member to safely load, unload and move furniture.
- Check deliveries against the daily delivery schedule and ensure the correct items are delivered.
- Handle furniture carefully to prevent damage during loading, transportation and delivery.
- Carry furniture into customers' premises where the delivery service requires this.
- Unbox furniture and remove packaging when customers have booked an unboxing service.
- Position furniture safely in the customer's requested area where applicable.
- Carry out basic checks of items at the point of delivery.
- Obtain proof of delivery and report any damages, shortages or delivery issues.
- Communicate professionally and politely with customers.
- Keep the delivery vehicle clean, organised and presentable.
- Complete basic daily vehicle checks and report any issues.
- Communicate with the office regarding delays, access problems or other delivery issues.
- Follow company procedures and health and safety requirements at all times.
The ideal candidate will:
- Hold a full UK driving licence suitable for the vehicle being driven.
- Be confident driving long distances and travelling throughout the UK.
- Be physically fit and comfortable regularly lifting and moving heavy furniture.
- Be happy working as part of a two-person delivery team.
- Have good customer service and communication skills.
- Be reliable, punctual and organised.
- Take care when handling high-value furniture.
- Be comfortable working varied hours depending on delivery routes.
- Be able to use a smartphone for delivery information, navigation and proof of delivery.
- Have a professional and presentable manner when visiting customers.
Previous experience in furniture delivery, removals, multi-drop delivery, two-person delivery or similar work would be beneficial but is not essential.
Working Hours & Travel
This role involves UK-wide deliveries, so applicants must be comfortable with significant driving and travelling.
Start and finish times will vary depending on the delivery route. Some days may require early starts, later finishes or longer journeys.
There may also occasionally be a requirement for overnight stays depending on the delivery location and route.
Physical Requirements
This is a physically active role. You will regularly be required to:
- Lift and carry salon furniture.
- Move large or bulky items safely with another team member.
- Load and unload delivery vehicles.
- Carry furniture through customer premises.
- Unbox and position furniture.
- Remove and dispose of packaging where required.
Manual handling training and appropriate equipment will be provided where applicable.
- Company delivery van can be supplied.
- A second delivery team member for two-person deliveries.
- Delivery schedules and route information.
- Equipment required to safely move furniture.
- Training on our products and delivery procedures.
We're looking for someone who understands that they're not simply dropping off parcels. Our customers are often receiving furniture for a new or existing salon, so the delivery experience is an important part of our service.
You'll need to be careful, respectful, helpful and professional, while also being comfortable with the physical nature of furniture delivery and the demands of travelling throughout the UK.
Pay: £120.00-£170.00 per day
