Event Coordinator - Skill Connections
Liverpool City Centre, L3 | Baltic Triangle
£30,000 starting salary
Full Time | Permanent | On Site
Monday to Friday, 9:00am to 5:30pm
Skill Connections is looking for an Event Coordinator to join our Liverpool team, based in the Baltic Triangle. This is a £30,000 position offering hands on involvement across the full event lifecycle, from the first brief and planning stages through to supplier coordination, live event delivery and post event follow up.
Your core working week will be Monday to Friday, with occasional weekend work when specific events are taking place. Weekend event hours are paid at an enhanced hourly rate, with additional event related bonuses available. For someone looking to build a serious career in events, this is an opportunity to develop practical experience while actually seeing the events you have helped organise come together.
The role
As an Event Coordinator, you will help turn initial ideas and client requirements into organised, professionally delivered events.
You will work across event planning, logistics, scheduling, supplier management, venue coordination and client communication, keeping the different parts of each project moving in the right direction.
The role combines organisation and event administration with practical involvement. Some days will focus on timelines, budgets, bookings and stakeholder communication. Others may involve venues, suppliers, event materials or being on site while a live event is being delivered.
Skill Connections works with businesses across people, workforce and operational support. Joining the Liverpool operation will give you exposure to different projects, stakeholders and business environments while developing broader commercial experience alongside your events knowledge.
What you will be doing
- Coordinate events from the initial brief through planning, preparation, delivery and post event follow up.
- Build and maintain event schedules, timelines, checklists and run sheets, ensuring internal teams, suppliers and key deadlines remain organised.
- Liaise with venues, suppliers, vendors, contractors, clients and other stakeholders regarding availability, bookings, requirements and event logistics.
- Support venue coordination and event operations including catering, equipment, transport, promotional materials, guest requirements and other practical arrangements.
- Assist with budget management and cost tracking by obtaining supplier quotes, recording expenditure and helping events remain within agreed costs.
- Act as a professional point of contact for clients and stakeholders, providing clear updates and responding to changes or requests throughout the planning process.
- Provide hands on support during selected live events, coordinating schedules, suppliers, attendees and operational requirements while resolving issues as they arise.
- Maintain accurate event documentation, booking information, CRM records, calendars, contact lists and follow up actions, as well as contributing to post event evaluation and identifying improvements for future events.
What we are looking for
You do not need to have spent several years working under the exact title of Event Coordinator.
We are interested in people who already have experience within event planning or events management, as well as candidates with strong transferable coordination skills from hospitality, conferences, venues, marketing, brand activations, customer service, administration, operations or project coordination.
You may currently be working as an Events Assistant, Events Administrator, Junior Event Coordinator, Event Planner, Venue Coordinator or Project Coordinator and be ready for greater responsibility.
We are looking for someone with:
- Strong planning and organisational skills, with the ability to manage several priorities and deadlines at the same time.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills and a professional, personable approach when dealing with clients, suppliers and colleagues.
- Good attention to detail, particularly when managing schedules, bookings, event documentation, costs and changing requirements.
- Strong problem solving skills and the ability to stay composed when plans, timings or supplier arrangements change.
- Confidence managing stakeholder relationships and communicating with people across different departments, venues and external organisations.
- Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office, particularly Outlook, Word and Excel, with confidence using email, calendar management and digital systems. Experience with CRM systems would be beneficial.
- The ability to work independently when managing your own responsibilities while collaborating effectively with the wider team, plus availability for occasional weekend events.
Previous direct events experience is beneficial, but we are equally interested in applicants who can demonstrate strong project coordination, customer service, planning or operational experience that transfers naturally into an Event Coordinator position.
What you can expect
- £30,000 starting salary
- A Monday to Friday core working week, 9:00am to 5:30pm.
- Enhanced hourly pay when supporting occasional weekend events.
- Additional event related bonuses where applicable.
- Hands on experience across event planning, event logistics, supplier management, budgeting and client communication.
- The opportunity to work across varied events, projects and business environments rather than being restricted to one administrative function.
- Exposure to venues, suppliers, clients and professional networks across Liverpool and the wider region.
- Structured training and ongoing professional development as your events experience develops.
- The opportunity to gradually take on greater responsibility based on your experience and capability.
- Team and company events.
- A Liverpool L3 location in the Baltic Triangle, putting you close to one of the city's best known areas for independent venues, hospitality, creative businesses and events.
Building your career in events
This role is designed for someone who wants broader exposure to how events are planned and delivered rather than only handling one part of the process.
You will develop experience across event coordination, project coordination, supplier and vendor management, budgeting, client communication, scheduling, venue coordination and on site event support.
For someone moving up from an Events Assistant, hospitality, marketing or coordination background, it provides a practical route into a broader Event Coordinator position while remaining supported by the wider team.
Apply
If you are based in Liverpool or the wider Merseyside area and want to develop your career within event planning and coordination, we would like to hear from you.
Apply with your CV and tell us about the events, projects, customers or teams you have previously helped organise and coordinate.
