We are seeking an experienced and passionate Head Chef to lead our culinary team in delivering exceptional dining experiences. The successful candidate will oversee all aspects of kitchen operations, from food preparation and cooking to team management and food safety compliance. This role offers an exciting opportunity for a dedicated professional with a strong background in hospitality and culinary arts to shape our menu and uphold the highest standards of quality and service.
Responsibilities
- Lead and supervise the kitchen team, ensuring efficient workflow and high standards of food production ensuring a 5 star food hygiene rating
- Oversee all food preparation, cooking, and presentation to ensure consistency and excellence
- Manage inventory, order supplies, and control food costs effectively
- Develop innovative menus that reflect current trends while catering to customer preferences
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, including food safety standards
- Train, mentor, and motivate staff to foster a positive working environment and professional growth
- Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen in accordance with hygiene regulations
- Collaborate with front-of-house staff to ensure seamless service delivery
- Monitor customer feedback and implement improvements as necessary
Successful applicants will be working at Colmans Seafood Temple, whilst the Cafe is under refurbishments. We are hoping to open The Village Cafe for late Summer 2026
Qualifications
- Proven supervising experience within a busy kitchen environment, ideally within a restaurant/cafe or hospitality setting
- Extensive experience in food production, food preparation, and cooking techniques
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage a diverse team effectively
- Knowledge of food safety standards and best practices in hygiene management
- Demonstrable experience in menu development and culinary innovation
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to multitask under pressure
- Previous experience in restaurant management or similar roles is highly desirable
- A passion for culinary arts and delivering exceptional customer service

Pay: £29,000.00-£35,000.00 per year
