Job Summary
We are seeking a vigilant and professional Retail Security Officer to safeguard our premises, staff, and customers. The ideal candidate will be responsible for monitoring the store environment, preventing theft, and ensuring a safe shopping experience. Responsibilities
- Conduct regular patrols of the retail premises to deter theft and ensure safety.
- Monitor CCTV systems continuously to identify suspicious activity or security breaches.
- Implement loss prevention strategies by observing customer behaviour and intervening when necessary.
- Respond promptly to incidents or emergencies, including medical situations, using first aid procedures when required.
- Enforce store policies and procedures related to security and safety.
- Maintain detailed incident reports and communicate effectively with management regarding security concerns.
- Assist with crowd control during busy periods or special events.
- Collaborate with local law enforcement or emergency services as needed.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in surveillance, loss prevention, or security roles is desirable.
- Knowledge of CCTV operation and monitoring techniques.
- First aid certification is preferred but not essential; training can be provided.
- Strong observational skills with keen attention to detail.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to remain calm under pressure.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and perform patrols across large retail spaces.
- A responsible attitude with integrity and professionalism at all times.
- Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings or weekends if required.
