About the Role
We are seeking an experienced and motivated Senior Software Engineer to join our growing technology team. This role is ideal for a skilled developer with strong backend expertise who enjoys solving complex technical challenges, contributing to software architecture, and delivering scalable, high-quality solutions.
You will play a key role in designing, developing, and maintaining modern applications, APIs, and integrations while collaborating with product, business, and technical teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, test, and maintain robust, scalable software applications.
- Build and enhance backend services, RESTful APIs, and third-party integrations.
- Collaborate with product owners, stakeholders, and engineering teams to deliver business requirements.
- Participate in code reviews and promote engineering best practices.
- Analyse technical requirements and propose effective, efficient solutions.
- Contribute to software architecture and system design decisions.
- Support continuous improvement of development processes, tools, and infrastructure.
Required Skills & Experience
- Strong commercial experience in software development and application architecture.
- Solid experience with PHP, Laravel, and modern backend frameworks.
- Experience designing and integrating RESTful APIs.
- Good knowledge of relational databases such as MySQL or PostgreSQL.
- Understanding of cloud platforms, deployment processes, and modern development workflows.
- Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to work independently and collaboratively.
Desirable Skills
- Experience building or supporting scalable SaaS platforms.
- Background in FinTech, regulated industries, payments, or secure API systems.
- Knowledge of AWS, Docker, CI/CD pipelines, and DevOps practices.
- Experience with frontend technologies such as React is beneficial.
- Familiarity with AI-assisted development tools (such as GitHub Copilot, ChatGPT, or similar) and an interest in applying AI technologies or integrating AI-powered services into software solutions.
