We are looking for a caring, reliable and highly professional Support Worker / Personal Assistant to join a dedicated team supporting a young man to live an independent, safe and fulfilling life. He has Lennox-Gastaut syndrome, a severe form of epilepsy, alongside autism and a PDA profile, and benefits from person-centred support that is calm, consistent, flexible and respectful of his communication and processing style.

About You – We particularly welcome applications from candidates with experience in autism support, epilepsy, complex care, positive behaviour support, mental health, or high-quality community-based support work.
- Resilient and non-judgemental: You will need to respond effectively to moments of stress, anxiety or overwhelm with confidence, patience, flexibility and respect, without becoming confrontational or directive.
- Calm, patient and observant: You are able to provide steady support, notice changes in presentation, and help create a calm environment.
- Understanding of autism and PDA-informed practice: You understand the value of low-demand approaches, collaborative communication, predictability, and supporting autonomy wherever possible.
- Epilepsy awareness and willingness to undertake specialist training
- Comfortable outdoors: You’re physically fit and happy to join him on walks and community activities
- Great communication skills: You connect well with him, his family, and the wider team, making sure support is consistent and well coordinated
- Driver’s licence is required
