Overview
We are seeking enthusiastic and dedicated Cafe Team Members to join our vibrant team. This role offers an excellent opportunity to develop your skills within a dynamic food service environment. As a key member of our café, you will be responsible for delivering exceptional customer service, preparing food and beverages, and maintaining high standards of cleanliness and safety. Previous experience in a similar setting is advantageous but not essential, as full training will be provided. The ideal candidate will be organised, efficient, and passionate about creating a welcoming atmosphere for our customers.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and serve a variety of hot and cold beverages, including coffee and tea, ensuring quality standards are met.
- Assist customers with their orders in a friendly and professional manner, providing excellent customer service at all times.
- Handle food preparation tasks such as assembling sandwiches, salads, or baked goods in accordance with health and safety regulations.
- Maintain cleanliness of workstations, dining areas, and equipment to ensure a hygienic environment.
- Manage cash register operations accurately using basic maths skills for transactions.
- Restock supplies as needed to ensure the smooth running of the café during shifts.
- Follow food safety procedures diligently to uphold hygiene standards and comply with relevant legislation.
- Manage time effectively during busy periods to serve customers promptly without compromising quality.
Qualifications
- Previous barista experience or serving experience is desirable but not essential; training will be provided for all new team members.
- Knowledge of food safety standards is advantageous.
- Basic maths skills are necessary for handling cash transactions accurately.
- Strong organisational skills with excellent time management abilities.
- Ability to work efficiently both independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Friendly demeanour with excellent communication skills and a positive attitude towards customer service.
