Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Laundry Supervisor to oversee the daily operations of our laundry department. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing laundry staff, ensuring high standards of cleanliness and efficiency, and maintaining smooth workflow within the team. Previous hotel experience is highly desirable, as it provides valuable insight into hospitality industry standards. Duties
- Supervise and coordinate the activities of laundry staff to ensure timely completion of tasks
- Monitor laundry processes, including sorting, washing, drying, folding, and distribution of linen and garments
- Maintain high standards of hygiene, safety, and quality control throughout all laundry operations
- Schedule shifts and delegate tasks effectively to optimise productivity
- Ensure proper utilisation and maintenance of laundry equipment
- Train new team members on operational procedures and safety protocols
- Conduct regular inspections to uphold cleanliness standards in the laundry area
- Keep accurate records of laundry inventory and supplies
- Collaborate with housekeeping or hospitality departments to meet their specific linen requirements
- Implement continuous improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency and service quality
Experience
- Prior experience in a supervisory role within a laundry environment is preferred
- Hotel experience is highly advantageous, providing familiarity with industry standards and guest expectations
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively
- Excellent communication skills to lead and motivate a team
- Knowledge of laundry machinery operation and maintenance is beneficial
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure whilst maintaining attention to detail
