PURPOSE OF THE ROLE
To provide safe, compassionate, person-centred support to service users, enabling them to live independent, fulfilling lives. To follow care plans, promote choice and dignity, and work within policies, procedures and legal requirements. To build positive relationships and support individuals to achieve their goals and maintain their wellbeing.
MAIN DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Support Delivery
- Provide personal care, domestic support, social support and community access as outlined in care plans
- Support with daily living tasks: cooking, cleaning, shopping, personal hygiene, medication prompting
- Promote independence, choice, decision-making and skills development
- Support individuals to maintain relationships, hobbies and community links
- Ensure all support is delivered with dignity, respect and compassion
Safety & Compliance
- Follow all policies, procedures, risk assessments and care plans exactly
- Report immediately any changes in health, behaviour, mood or safety concerns
- Maintain accurate, timely and confidential records and notes
- Comply with health & safety, infection control, moving and handling and security rules
- Attend all mandatory training and keep skills up to date
Safeguarding & Wellbeing
- Understand and apply safeguarding principles; report any concern immediately
- Respect privacy, confidentiality and professional boundaries
- Promote rights, equality and inclusion
- Support individuals to stay safe and healthy
- Report accidents, incidents or near misses straight away

PERSON SPECIFICATION
Essential
- Caring, compassionate and respectful attitude
- Willingness to learn and complete training
- Good communication skills, written and verbal
- Reliable, flexible and able to work shifts
- Understanding of confidentiality and safeguarding
- Enhanced DBS check required
Desirable
- Previous care or support experience
- Health & Social Care qualification (Level 2 or 3)
- Experience with learning disabilities, mental health or complex needs
- Full UK driving licence
WORKING CONDITIONS
- Shift pattern including weekends, evenings and nights
- Physical activity, moving and handling required
- Working in people’s homes or care settings
- Subject to Disclosure and Barring Service check and reference checks

Pay: £24,420.00-£36,119.47 per year
