Early Years Practitioner – Baby Room
Location: Daisy Day Nursery, Wirral
Hours: 16.5 hours per week
Working days: Thursdays and Fridays
Shift: 8-hour shifts, including a 45-minute unpaid break
Shift times: Between 7:15am and 5:45pm
Qualification: Level 3 Early Years qualification required
About the Role
Due to increasing numbers, we are looking for an enthusiastic and experienced Level 3 Early Years Practitioner to join our nursery team and work within our Baby Room.
This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced practitioner who is passionate about providing high-quality care and learning experiences for babies and young children. You will play an important role in supporting children's development, wellbeing and individual needs as part of our friendly and dedicated team.
The successful candidate will be confident working within a baby room and have previous experience of taking on keyworker responsibilities, building positive relationships with children and their families, and supporting children's individual development.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality care, learning and development opportunities for babies in line with the EYFS.
- Act as a keyworker for a group of children, developing strong and positive relationships with children and their families.
- Plan and provide engaging, age-appropriate activities based on children's individual interests and developmental needs.
- Complete observations, assessments and contribute to children's learning journals.
- Support children's personal care, including feeding, nappy changing and sleep routines.
- Maintain a safe, clean and stimulating environment.
- Work effectively as part of the nursery team and communicate positively with colleagues and parents/carers.
- Follow nursery policies and procedures, including safeguarding, health and safety and confidentiality requirements.
- Support children's emotional wellbeing and help them develop confidence, independence and positive relationships.
- Contribute to the smooth day-to-day running of the Baby Room.
About You
We are looking for someone who:
- Holds a Level 3 Childcare qualification qualification or equivalent.
- Has previous experience working in an Early Years setting.
- Has experience of being a keyworker and managing key children.
- Has experience working with babies and understands their individual care and developmental needs.
- Is passionate about working with young children and supporting their development.
- Is reliable, hardworking and able to work well as part of a team.
- Has excellent communication skills and can build positive relationships with children, parents and colleagues.
- Is caring, patient, enthusiastic and committed to providing high-quality childcare.
- Has a good understanding of the EYFS and safeguarding requirements.
