Job Description
Evolution Recruit is recruiting for a skilled and detail-oriented Night Shift Toolmaker to join a well-established manufacturing business based in Mansfield. This is a full-time, permanent opportunity offering long-term stability for an experienced Toolmaker with a strong background in plastic injection mould tooling.
The successful candidate will be responsible for the maintenance, repair, modification, and support of precision tooling, primarily plastic injection mould tools. Experience with aluminium pressure die casting tools is advantageous but not essential, as full training can be provided.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintenance, repair, and modification of plastic injection mould tools (essential)
- Supporting aluminium pressure die casting tools, including fault finding and breakdown support (training provided)
- Fabrication and refurbishment of tooling components using milling, grinding, welding, and fitting techniques
- Precision assembly of tooling components to specification
- Diagnosing tooling faults and implementing effective solutions during night shifts
- Supporting production to minimise downtime
- Safe and efficient operation of hand tools and machining equipment
- Accurate documentation of work carried out and tool modifications
- Ensuring all work meets safety and quality standards
Skills & Experience Required
- Time-served Toolmaker or equivalent qualification
- Strong mechanical knowledge of plastic injection moulding tools (essential)
- Experience working in a toolroom/manufacturing environment
- Exposure to aluminium pressure die casting tooling is beneficial but not essential
- Competent in milling, grinding, welding, and general toolroom practices
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and schematics
- Experience using lathes, mills, grinders, and hand tools
- Strong fault-finding and problem-solving skills
- Comfortable working permanent night shifts with minimal supervision
- Able to attend an on-site interview in Mansfield
- CAD experience (AutoCAD, SolidWorks, etc.) is advantageous but not essential
