Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Head Chef/Kitchen Manager to lead our culinary team. The successful candidate will oversee daily kitchen operations, ensure the delivery of high-quality food, and maintain exceptional standards of food safety and hygiene. Duties
- Lead and supervise the kitchen team, ensuring efficient workflow and high standards of food preparation and presentation
- Oversee all aspects of food production, from sourcing ingredients to final plating, ensuring consistency and quality
- Manage daily kitchen operations, including inventory control, ordering supplies, and maintaining cleanliness and hygiene standards in accordance with food safety regulations
- Develop innovative menus that cater to diverse customer preferences while maintaining cost efficiency
- Train and mentor junior staff, fostering a cohesive team environment focused on professional development and excellent service delivery
- Ensure compliance with health and safety legislation, including proper handling of food and equipment
- Collaborate with front-of-house staff to ensure smooth service during busy periods
- Monitor customer feedback to continuously improve culinary offerings and service standards
Experience
- Proven supervisory experience within a professional kitchen environment, ideally in a restaurant or hospitality setting
- Extensive background in food preparation, cooking, and food production techniques
- Demonstrable leadership skills with the ability to manage a diverse team effectively
- Strong understanding of food safety standards and hygiene practices
- Experience in menu development and cost control measures
- Familiarity with restaurant operations, including serving procedures and guest relations
- Previous experience in hospitality or catering roles is highly desirable
- Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
