Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Chef Manager to lead our culinary team and oversee daily kitchen operations. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, extensive culinary expertise, and a passion for delivering exceptional food experiences. This role offers an exciting opportunity to manage food production, ensure food safety standards, and foster a positive working environment within a vibrant hospitality setting.
Wage will be increased to £15 an hour after 3 months.
Responsibilities
- Supervise and coordinate the activities of kitchen staff, including chefs, cooks, and service personnel
- Oversee food preparation and cooking processes to maintain high-quality standards
- Manage food production schedules to ensure timely delivery of dishes
- Implement and monitor food safety and hygiene regulations in compliance with legal requirements
- Develop menus in collaboration with the management team, considering customer preferences and seasonal ingredients
- Train and mentor team members to enhance their culinary skills and service delivery
- Maintain stock levels, order supplies, and control inventory costs effectively
- Ensure cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen environment at all times
- Collaborate with front-of-house staff to ensure seamless service delivery
- Uphold the organisation’s standards for hospitality, serving, and customer satisfaction
Requirements
- Proven supervising experience within a busy kitchen or restaurant environment
- Extensive culinary experience with strong skills in food preparation and cooking techniques
- Demonstrable leadership qualities with the ability to manage a diverse team effectively
- Knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices in hygiene management
- Experience in food production within hospitality or restaurant settings
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to multitask under pressure
- Strong communication skills to liaise effectively with team members and management
- Previous experience in restaurant or hospitality environments is highly desirable
- Passion for delivering exceptional customer service through quality food and professional service standards
