Sonia Friedman Productions is seeking applications for an experienced
Auto No.1 to work on the West End production of
The Lives Of Others, adapted and directed by Robert Icke for the Adelphi Theatre.
Your duties and responsibilities will be those normally expected of a Auto No.1 on a first-class West End production.
Candidates will require relevant hands-on professional experience in automation: they should be able to lead a team and demonstrate excellent interpersonal and communication skills. They should run a successful department and liaise with all other departments on the production and associated personnel. Candidates should be able to work calmly and efficiently under pressure as well as having strong organisational and time management qualities to ensure that the production runs efficiently and the automation plot is carried out in a safe manner.
Responsibilities include the maintenance and operation of the automation equipment for the production, overseeing automation operation, and working within a team to ensure that the show’s automation requirements remain true to the original concept.
Experience working on a West End production is essential.

Contract Type: Fixed term until Saturday 9th January 2027
Salary: Weekly rate as per SOLT/BECTU Agreement
Weekly Hours: 6 day working weeks (Monday to Saturday); 8 shows per week plus maintenance and understudy calls.
