Job Summary
We are looking for a reliable, safety‑focused HGV Class 1 Driver to join our growing team. This role involves a mix of local and regional deliveries, supporting our construction, aggregates and recycling operations. You’ll be representing the business on the road, so professionalism, good communication and strong customer service are essential.
Responsibilities
- Safe operation of Class 1 vehicles in line with UK road transport legislation
- Completing daily vehicle checks and defect reporting
- Transporting aggregates, recycled materials, concrete and plant
- Ensuring accurate paperwork, weighbridge tickets and delivery notes
- Maintaining excellent customer service at delivery and collection points
- Adhering to site rules, load security requirements and company procedures
- Working closely with transport planners to ensure efficient routing
Requirements
- Valid HGV Class 1 (Category C+E) licence
- Valid Driver CPC and Digital Tachograph Card
- Strong understanding of WTD, EU Drivers’ Hours, and load security
- Knowledge of road safety regulations and best practices for transporting goods securely
- Ability to handle physical tasks involved in loading/unloading cargo safely.
- A positive attitude, good communication skills and a commitment to safety
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively
