F&W Forestry UK Ltd has been managing woodland in the UK since 1957. We provide expert services in all aspects of forest and associated land management, including acquisition and brokerage of forest and woodland properties.
Our team of professional forest managers work closely with forest and woodland owners to help them achieve their management objectives, and the sustainability of their woodlands, through sound forest management advice and best practice in silvicultural and operating procedures.
Today, we are part of the American F & W Forestry Services Group which globally manages approximately 900,000 hectares (over 2 million acres) of forests and woodland throughout North America, South America, the UK, and France.
The Position
The role of forest manager in Wales will see you manage a portfolio of properties mainly in Mid and North Wales, We would expect you to have the confidence to be able to work on your own but also to know when to consult with line management, we require someone with the enthusiasm and skills to expand the Company’s private and Institutional client base, engaging and meeting with new and existing clients maintaining and building strong client relationships. Yo will work alongside the business development team to help grow the business and our operating footprint.
Keep up to date with changes in legislation and other developments in the industry that may impact on our business and forest management and ensure compliance with all Health and Safety and UKFS/UKWAS standards are met at all times.
We’re looking for candidates who are highly motivated, confident, enthusiastic and reliable with the ability to identify solutions when problems arise. In addition to this, you’ll have:
- Relevant academic qualifications and at least 5 years post-qualification UK forestry management experience.
- Good communication, team and interpersonal management skills.
- Good knowledge of the UK Forestry Standard and UKWAS.
- Hold a Full UK driving licence
