Reagen Varross is a British haute couture house dedicated to preserving traditional craftsmanship while creating contemporary couture garments for a private international clientele.
We are looking for an exceptionally skilled couture seamstress to join the atelier on a flexible basis. This role would suit someone who thrives on craftsmanship, precision and attention to detail, and enjoys working on one-of-a-kind garments rather than production pieces.
Responsibilities
* Construct complete couture garments from initial toile through to final fitting.
* Drape directly on the stand where required.
* Execute immaculate hand finishing using traditional couture techniques.
* Work confidently with delicate luxury fabrics including silk, chiffon, organza, lace and wool.
* Assist with pattern adaptation and garment development.
* Carry out couture alterations and refinements throughout fittings.
* Apply embellishments by hand, including crystals, feathers, lace appliqué and embroidery where required.
* Maintain exceptional standards of finishing both inside and outside every garment.
Essential Skills
* Proven experience constructing high-end couture or luxury eveningwear.
* Excellent draping and garment construction skills.
* Outstanding hand sewing ability.
* Strong understanding of couture finishing techniques.
* Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
* Meticulous attention to detail and pride in craftsmanship.
* Calm, organised and able to manage multiple projects.
Desirable
* Experience within a couture or luxury fashion house.
* Pattern cutting experience.
* Bridal couture experience.
* Experience working directly with private clients during fittings.
The Opportunity
This is a flexible position that can be tailored to the right candidate. We are open to freelance, part-time or project-based arrangements depending on experience and availability. There is also potential for full time depending on the skill level.
