What you’ll be doing
Join us on this mission as a Pyro Inspector working in our Chalgrove Inspection Department at our Oxfordshire site. You’ll be undertaking a variety of processes for product verification of parts and components and ensuring that all Inspection activities are delivered efficiently in accordance with the production schedule to contribute to the success of ejector seats produced onsite, to ultimately save lives. After the probationary period this role will revert to a shift pattern of 4 on and 4 off from 7am to 16.30pm.
Aspects of the role include:
- To carry out testing/inspection/ booking in of Pyrotechnic components using a variety of processes and techniques.
- Undertake self-inspection and quality check of work undertaken in accordance with laid down quality standards and procedures, & to assist in the successful implementation of ongoing process improvements.
- To generate, maintain inspection documentation in accordance with the relevant Company Quality Assurance policy.
- Use SAP to accurately record all work in progress.
- Track processing of component batches through the manufacturing process and update records accurately and regularly.
- Accurately record the location of components and parts.
- Record all non-conforming products.
Characteristics & Skills
- Inspection experience (aerospace, defence or automotive)
- Solid data analysis skills, numeracy and geometry skills
- Technical reasoning skills i.e., to understand tolerances.
- Experience of reading and interpreting engineering drawings (2D and 3D models)
- General experience of using Inspection Tools and Equipment, gauges, verniers micrometres etc. and attention to detail.
- Previous explosive and AS9102 FAIR experience is desirable.
