As a Bar & Restaurant - Food and Beverage Assistant, you will contribute to delivering a high-quality dining and bar experience for hotel guests, local customers, and event attendees. This role requires excellent customer service skills, attention to detail, and the ability to perform confidently in a fast-paced, high-volume environment while maintaining the hotel’s service and brand standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Set up and prepare bar and restaurant areas prior to service, ensuring all tables, service stations, and bar areas are clean, organized, and fully stocked
- Provide friendly, professional, and efficient service to guests throughout lunch, dinner, and bar service periods
- Take food and beverage orders accurately and deliver them promptly in line with service standards
- Prepare and serve beverages, including alcoholic drinks, in accordance with licensing laws and hotel procedures
- Maintain high standards of food and beverage presentation at all times
- Clear tables efficiently and reset service areas to support smooth guest flow
- Process payments accurately and follow cash handling procedures when required
- Engage confidently with guests, responding to enquiries, upselling where appropriate, and handling concerns professionally
- Work closely with kitchen, bar, and front-of-house teams to ensure seamless service
- Ensure compliance with food safety, hygiene, health & safety, and licensing regulations
- Maintain cleanliness of front-of-house, bar, storage, and back-of-house areas during and after service
- Assist with event, function, and private dining service as required
- Demonstrate flexibility by supporting other Food & Beverage outlets within the hotel when needed
Qualifications
- Previous experience in a restaurant, catering, or hospitality setting is advantageous but not essential; training will be provided
- Knowledge of food safety standards is desirable
- Excellent communication skills with a friendly demeanour
- Ability to work efficiently both independently and as part of a team
- Flexibility to work shifts including evenings, weekends, or special events as required
- A positive attitude with a passion for delivering exceptional customer service
- Basic organisational skills to manage multiple tasks during busy periods
