Duties
- Assist the Head Chef in managing daily kitchen operations, including supervising junior staff and ensuring smooth workflow.
- Oversee food production, ensuring dishes are prepared to the highest standards of presentation and taste.
- Lead food preparation activities, including cooking, plating, and portion control, adhering to established recipes and standards.
- Maintain strict compliance with food safety regulations and hygiene protocols across all kitchen areas.
- Manage inventory levels, order supplies as needed, and ensure proper storage of ingredients.
- Support team management by training new staff members and fostering a collaborative work environment.
- Assist in menu planning and development to enhance culinary offerings.
- Ensure efficient utilisation of kitchen equipment and maintain cleanliness throughout the workspace.
- Serve as a role model for professionalism, hospitality, and excellent customer service.
Experience
- Proven supervising experience within a busy kitchen environment.
- Extensive background in food production, cooking, and food preparation.
- Strong leadership skills with experience managing teams in hospitality or restaurant settings.
- Knowledge of food safety standards and regulations is essential.
- Previous restaurant or hospitality experience is highly desirable.
- Familiarity with serving procedures and maintaining high standards of customer service will be advantageous.
- Demonstrated ability to work under pressure in fast-paced environments while maintaining attention to detail.
