We’re looking for a reliable, hardworking and physically strong person to join our team at our busy fish & chip shop.
This is much more than a standard cleaning job — you’ll be helping keep the shop and kitchen clean, safe and running smoothly, as well as helping with some food preparation.
The role will include:
- Cleaning the shop, kitchen and back-of-house areas
- Sweeping and mopping floors, including larger areas
- Cleaning toilets and maintaining high hygiene standards
- Peeling large bags of potatoes
- Moving and lifting heavy slabs/boxes of frozen fish
- Preparing and cooking mushy peas
- Working safely around kitchen equipment and machinery
- Deep cleaning equipment and areas when required
- Using your own initiative to spot things that need cleaning or doing, rather than waiting to be asked
- Helping with other general jobs around the shop when needed
We’re looking for someone who is:
- Physically fit and comfortable with a hands-on role
- Strong enough to safely lift and move heavy items
- Reliable and punctual
- Hardworking and not afraid to get stuck in
- Able to work independently and use their own initiative
- Comfortable working in a busy kitchen environment
- Someone who takes pride in keeping things clean and organised
Full training will be provided, but a good work ethic and the ability to get stuck in are essential.
This is a busy working environment, so this role would suit someone who enjoys being active and doesn’t mind getting their hands dirty!
Pay: £12.71-£18.89 per hour
