About Us
Sovereign Automotive Ltd operates from over 20 locations across the UK, including offices, transport depots and repair centres. We manage a diverse fleet of vehicles, ranging from standard models to high-value prestige cars and vans.
Sovereign Automotive works with insurance brokers, repairers and insurers to support clients involved in non-fault accidents. We provide replacement hire vehicles, coordinate repairs and manage the claim process, delivering a seamless and high-quality service from first contact through to vehicle return.
The Role
We are looking for reliable and professional Relief Drivers to support the safe and efficient delivery and collection of hire vehicles.
As a Relief Driver, your primary responsibility will be to deliver vehicles to customers promptly and safely, while providing an excellent standard of customer service throughout.
Role Overview
- Job Title: Relief Driver
- Contract: Zero-hours (flexible, based on operational demand)
Depot Locations: Sovereign Automotive, Heathrow Depot, Unit 1, Riverside Business Park, The Common, West Drayton, UB7 7HQ.
The purpose of this role is to ensure the timely and safe delivery of vehicles to customers, while maintaining high service standards and working within agreed schedules.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare hire vehicles to a high standard prior to delivery, completing all required checks and documentation
- Ensure all vehicles for upcoming deliveries are ready and accounted for
- Maintain an organised depot, following vehicle allocation guidance from management
- Deliver and collect vehicles, including completing vehicle swaps where required
- Travel between locations using public transport or other approved methods
- Work collaboratively as part of a team, attending meetings where appropriate
- Support Level 1 and Level 2 Drivers with deliveries and collections
- Carry out any other reasonable duties as requested by management
Skills & Experience
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities
- Confident and professional communication style, with a customer-focused approach
- Good understanding of the Highway Code
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
- Reliable, punctual and able to meet deadlines
Requirements
- Full UK driving licence - minimum 2 years
- Ability to demonstrate safe and competent driving experience
- Willingness to disclose any driving licence endorsements (assessed in line with company and insurance requirements)
Additional Information
- Flexible working hours under a zero-hours contract (no guaranteed minimum hours)
- Work offered based on business needs, with no obligation to accept assignments
- Holiday pay calculated at 12.07% of hours worked
- Travel expenses between work locations are covered
