We are an award winning licensed cafe that is looking for lovely, friendly people to welcome our customers and help them have an amazing time while they are with us.
The hours can be flexible to suit your availability. Weekends are essential but on a shared basis.
You need to be physically fit to cope with being on your feet, walking and lifting.
It would be great if you had experience in making coffees etc. but if not, we are able to provide in-house training to get you up to speed.
We are looking for people-pleasers. Folk who like to help and make sure things are done properly.
We like to have fun and enjoy our time here, take things seriously when we need to and provide a professional image to our customers.
We are a licensed premises for alcohol so you need to be over the age of 18.
Skills
- Enjoys working with the public;
- Being friendly to customers, patient and understanding with the ability to engage and make customers feel welcome and comfortable;
- Previous barista and front of house experience is highly desirable;
- Physical fitness is essential due to working on your feet, moving quickly over a large area and lifting stock;
- Familiarity with IT systems for retail and card payments is desirable;
- Ability to integrate into a team environment and work well with others to share responsiblities.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and serve a variety of hot and cold beverages, including coffee, tea, and specialty drinks;
- Cut and serve cakes, arrange the cake counter and take pride in making our range of home made cakes inviting and tempting for customers;
- A thorough knowledge of allergens, dietary needs and preferences and be able to advise customers on what items we have available for them to dine safely;
- Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the front counter, adhering to food safety and hygiene standards;
- Engage with customers to take orders and provide exceptional service;
- Operate coffee machines and other equipment safely and efficiently;
- Manage inventory levels of supplies and communicate needs to management;
- Demonstrate excellent efficient working methods to ensure prompt service during peak hours;
- Monitor and manage retail stock, presentation and display.
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time, Permanent
Pay: £12.75-£15.00 per hour
