Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Warehouse Operative to join our dynamic logistics team. The successful candidate will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of warehouse activities, including materials handling, stock management, and order fulfilment. Responsibilities
- Handling materials efficiently, including loading and unloading goods from lorries and storage areas
- Operating forklifts and other warehouse machinery safely and effectively (training provided)
- Managing stock levels using the warehouse management system (WMS) to ensure accurate inventory records
- Picking, packing, and preparing orders for dispatch in accordance with company standards
- Assisting with shipping and receiving processes, ensuring timely and accurate processing of goods
- Stocking shelves and organising storage areas to optimise space utilisation
- Conducting quality control checks to maintain high standards of product integrity
- Performing mechanical tasks related to equipment maintenance and troubleshooting as needed
- Ensuring health and safety procedures are adhered to at all times during daily operations
Qualifications
- Previous experience in a warehouse environment is preferred but not essential; training will be provided for specific machinery such as forklifts
- Knowledge of materials handling techniques and warehouse management systems (WMS) is advantageous
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and efficiently, with physical fitness to stand for extended periods
- Mechanical knowledge or familiarity with warehouse equipment is desirable
- Strong organisational skills with attention to detail for stock accuracy and quality control tasks
- Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively within a team
- Flexibility to work shifts as required, including early mornings or late shifts depending on operational needs
