We are seeking an experienced and proactive Health & Safety Manager to join our diverse business mainly based from our sites in the Midlands.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and lead our Health & Safety strategy
- Ensure the business is legally compliant
- Manage a strong risk management delivery
- Support our management team with incident investigation and seek continuous improvement
- Lead and manage the Health & Safety team
- Support the business ensuring training is in place and up to date, and to the standard required to meet our business activities
- Advise and guide throughout the business to promote a strong positive outlook on safety
- Develop and improve systems to improve and monitor safety, including trend analysis and reporting.
- Conduct and review risk assessments and control measures
- Deliver H&S training, awareness, tool box talks and lead our H&S inductions
- Work closely with the business’ H&S consultant on H&S initiatives and with our wider management team.
- Where required support our customers, contracts and our contractors.
- Oversee and action a satisfactory audit level across the business to ensure standards are maintained.
- Support and maintain ISO 45001 certification
Salary is negotiable – circa £40,000 to £50,000
Essential Requirements:
- NEBOSH Diploma (Level 6 H&S qualification) or equivalent
- Proven experience in a H&S role which is to be office and on site / field based
- Strong knowledge of H&S legislation
- Experience of managing a team
- Competent on computer programmes such as Microsoft Office
- Full UK Driving Licence
- Ability to commute to our offices in the midlands
Desirable Requirements:
· Experience within the water utilities &/or agricultural sectors
· Experience of environmental management systems
· Qualified first aider, fire warden and mental health first aider.
· Chartered membership of CMIOSH
