FORS, Compliance & Health & Safety Officer

About the Role
We are looking for a proactive and organised FORS, Compliance & Health & Safety Officer to join our growing team. This is a varied role combining responsibility for fleet compliance, FORS accreditation, health and safety management, office administration support, and warehouse supervision.
The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring our fleet, warehouse, and office operations remain compliant, safe, and efficient. You will be responsible for maintaining our FORS Bronze accreditation while working towards Silver accreditation, overseeing compliance processes, supporting operational teams, and promoting a positive safety culture across the business.
Key ResponsibilitiesFORS & Fleet Compliance
- Manage and maintain the company's FORS accreditation requirements, ensuring continued compliance with Bronze standards and supporting progression to Silver accreditation.
- Monitor fleet compliance, including vehicle inspections, servicing schedules, MOTs, and defect reporting.
- Maintain accurate records of vehicle maintenance, repairs, inspections, and compliance documentation.
- Coordinate fleet servicing, repairs, and workshop activities.
- Liaise with suppliers, service providers, and external auditors.
- Monitor driver documentation, including licence checks, CPC qualifications, and training records.
- Assist with compliance reporting and audit preparation.
Health & Safety
- Support the implementation and maintenance of company Health & Safety policies and procedures.
- Conduct workplace inspections, risk assessments, and safety audits across office, warehouse, and operational areas.
- Investigate accidents, incidents, and near misses, ensuring appropriate corrective actions are implemented.
- Maintain Health & Safety records and documentation.
- Deliver safety briefings, toolbox talks, and compliance communications.
- Ensure compliance with current Health & Safety legislation and industry best practice.
- Promote a positive safety culture throughout the business.
Office & Warehouse Supervision
- Ensure high standards of housekeeping and organisation are maintained.
- Support stock control and warehouse compliance procedures.
- Monitor safe working practices and the correct use of equipment.
- Coordinate maintenance and inspection schedules for warehouse equipment where required.
- Provide administrative support relating to compliance, fleet management, and operational activities.
- Act as a point of contact for compliance and operational queries.
Skills & ExperienceEssential
- Previous experience working with FORS accreditation requirements.
- Good understanding of fleet compliance and vehicle maintenance processes.
- Knowledge of Health & Safety regulations and safe working practices.
- Strong organisational and administrative skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and record-keeping ability.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritise effectively.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
Desirable
- Experience within transport, logistics, fleet, or warehouse environments.
- Experience conducting workplace inspections and risk assessments.
- Knowledge of operator licence compliance and transport legislation.
- Previous supervisory experience.
- Health & Safety qualification (IOSH, NEBOSH, or equivalent).
