Accountant Role
We are recruiting for an experienced Accountant to join a well-established accountancy practice in Wirral.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced practice professional who has a minimum of 5 years' experience working within an accountancy practice and is confident managing accounts for a varied portfolio of clients.
You will work with a range of clients, preparing accounts and supporting them with their day-to-day accounting and tax requirements. The role will suit someone who is comfortable working independently, managing their own workload and dealing directly with clients.
Accountant Responsibilities

Preparing year-end accounts for limited companies

Preparing accounts for sole traders and partnerships

Preparing and submitting VAT returns
-
Preparing payroll and associated payroll documentation

Completing bookkeeping for a range of clients

Preparing management accounts where required
-
Assisting with tax returns and tax computations
-
Completing balance sheet reconciliations
-
Maintaining accurate accounting records
-
Dealing directly with clients and responding to queries

Managing a portfolio of clients and ensuring deadlines are met

Liaising with HMRC and other relevant bodies

Providing general accounting support and advice to clients
Accountant Requirements
-
Minimum of 5 years' experience working within an accountancy practice

Strong experience preparing limited company accounts

Experience preparing accounts for sole traders and partnerships

Good knowledge and experience of VAT returns

Experience with payroll preparation

Strong understanding of bookkeeping and reconciliations

Excellent attention to detail and accuracy

Good organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple deadlines

Confident communicating with clients

Ability to work independently and as part of a team

AAT, ACCA or ACA qualification/studies would be advantageous but not essential

Experience with accounting software such as Sage, Xero or QuickBooks would be beneficial
