Job Overview
We're a busy coffee shop, bakery and provisions space in Edinburgh’s Southside, with a strong Northern Irish influence. We focus on well-made pastries, breads and seasonal bakes, alongside high-quality speciality coffee.
We're looking to grow our Front of House team for August festival season, however successful candidates may have the opportunity to stay on beyond this.
Our pastries and coffee are in high demand and we frequently have queues, so experience in a similar role is absolutely necessary to allow you to hit the ground running. Unfortunately we're unable to consider applications without relevant experience.
Responsibilities
- Serve up orders with Northern Irish hospitality: genuine warmth, good craic
- Prepare speciality coffee in a fast-paced and constantly busy environment
- Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the front of house area, including tables, counters, and display cases
- Ensure food safety standards are adhered to at all times
- Manage time effectively during busy periods to minimise wait times and optimise customer satisfaction
- Restock supplies regularly to ensure smooth operation during shifts
What we're looking for:
- Previous barista experience in the independent speciality coffee industry
- Experience in serving customers in a fast-paced environment
- Strong time management skills to prioritise tasks efficiently and serve customers promptly
- Knowledge of Northern Irish food and coffee preferable but not essential
- Knowledge of food safety procedures is desirable
- A friendly and open attitude with excellent communication skills and a genuine passion for delivering outstanding customer service
Pay: £12.71 per hour
