Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Children's Residential Support Worker to join our team. This role involves providing high-quality care and support to children in a residential setting, ensuring their safety, well-being, and development. The successful candidate will work closely with children, families, and multidisciplinary teams to create a nurturing environment that promotes positive growth and stability. Prior experience working with children is preferred, along with a genuine passion for childcare and supporting young people through their individual care plans.
Responsibilities
- Support children in their daily routines, including personal care, meal preparation, and recreational activities
- Implement and follow individualised care plans tailored to each child's needs
- Foster a safe, supportive, and engaging environment that encourages emotional and social development
- Maintain accurate records of children's progress, behaviour, and any incidents in accordance with organisational policies
- Communicate effectively with children, colleagues, families, and external professionals to ensure cohesive support
- Assist with transportation needs by driving children to appointments or activities when required
- Participate in team meetings and training sessions to continually develop skills and knowledge in childcare practices
- Promote positive behaviour management strategies aligned with organisational guidelines
Skills
- Experience working with children in a residential or childcare setting is highly desirable
- Strong communication skills to effectively interact with children, families, and team members
- Ability to develop and implement care plans tailored to individual needs
- Competence in using IT systems for record keeping and reporting purposes
- Valid driving licence to facilitate transportation of children as needed
- Empathy, patience, and resilience when supporting vulnerable young people
- Organised approach to managing multiple responsibilities within a dynamic environment
Pay: From £13.50 per hour
