LV / HV M&E Technician

Salary: £38,000 – £45,000 per annum (Dependant on Experience)

The Role
We are currently recruiting for an experienced LV / HV M&E Technician to join a prestigious long-term energy contract in London.
The role will involve the operation and maintenance of two Energy Centres, supporting the reliable distribution of heat and electricity across a large-scale energy network.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced electrical or M&E technician with a strong background in LV/HV systems, electrical generation and mechanical maintenance to develop their career within a technically demanding environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate and maintain HTHW boilers and 11kV electrical generating plant
- Carry out mechanical maintenance on pumps, valves and water systems
- Manage and maintain LV/HV electrical distribution systems
- Complete planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive maintenance tasks
- Use IT monitoring and CAFM systems to manage maintenance activities
- Work in accordance with Permit to Work procedures
- Maintain accurate health and safety documentation
- Write, review and implement Risk Assessments and Method Statements
- Issue and manage Permits to Work where required
- Maintain safety documentation and electrical records
- Ensure PPMs and reactive maintenance tasks are completed within required timescales
- Support the safe and efficient operation of energy generation and distribution systems
- Understand and work in accordance with relevant supply and service contracts
- Participate in LV/HV Authorised Person accreditation and training where required
Skills, Qualifications & Experience
The successful candidate will ideally have:
- City & Guilds Electrical Theory & Installation qualification
- City & Guilds 2391 Test & Inspection or equivalent
- Strong electrical fault-finding and practical maintenance skills
- Previous experience working with electrical generation systems
- Experience working with LV/HV electrical systems
- Experience with large-scale boiler plant
- Mechanical maintenance experience
- Experience working with pumps and valves is highly desirable
- Confined Spaces experience is desirable, although training can be provided
- Good understanding of health and safety procedures and safe systems of work
- Experience working with Permit to Work systems
- Good IT skills, including Microsoft Office
- Experience using CAFM or maintenance management systems

About the Opportunity
This is a technically varied position suited to an experienced M&E Technician, Electrical Technician, HV Technician, Electrical Maintenance Engineer or Multi-Skilled Technician who is looking to work within a critical energy environment.
The successful candidate will plyay an important role in maintaining the availability, safety and reliability of electrical generation, distribution and mechanical plant.
