Job Summary:
The housekeeper is responsible for providing an efficient and effective Housekeeping service that fully meets the needs of the residents, along with the high standards expected in the care homes. Your role may involve working at both our Helen Ley House and Lillington House sites. The work can be physically and mentally demanding and the person appointed to the post will be expected to have an understanding of and sympathy with neurological conditions and brain injuries. You will be required to work shifts across weekdays with alternate weekends, 7.00am - 2.30pm.

Reports to: Housekeeping Supervisor
Principal Duties and Responsibilities
1. Providing a high quality Housekeeping service to ensure all areas of the home are cleaned to a high standard;
2. General housekeeping duties such as; vacuuming, mopping and polishing of all communal areas and residents’ bedrooms;
3. Ensuring safety of the residents while cleaning;
4. Understanding and complying with all statutory and legal requirements that are relevant such as Health & Safety, COSHH, and all aspects of the Health & Social Care Act;
5. Following the Castel Froma/Helen Ley cleaning schedule and report any faults/issues to the maintenance department;
6. Maintaining housekeeping stocks for day to day use;
7. Maintaining all cleaning equipment and materials in a safe and sanitary working condition;
8. Understanding and having a good awareness of Infection Control;
9. Appropriate disposal of rubbish;
10. General Laundry duties such as; sorting washing, washing clothes and linen, tumble drying and ironing clothing and linen and putting residents clothing items in relevant rooms
11. To always be alert and use your own initiative, spot clean any spillages as they occur.

1. Good working knowledge of housekeeping procedures;
2. Awareness of Health & Safety requirements;
3. Committed and dedicated to providing the highest standards of housekeeping;
4. Good communication and interpersonal skills;
5. Flexible and able to work in an environment that has frequent interruptions;
6. Self-motivated, adaptable individual with a “can-do” attitude;
7. Good time keeping and management.
