Job Overview
We are currently recruiting for a labourer to join our Landscaping Team at Tata Steel, Port Talbot.
This is initially offered as a 6-month contract, with the potential to become a permanent position for the right candidate. We are also happy to consider applicants seeking flexible or zero-hours arrangements.
The successful candidate will lead a small landscaping team working at various locations around that Tata site in Port Talbot. The role will primarily focus on landscaping and grounds maintenance activities, although you may also be required to support other labouring and site service operations as business needs dictate.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone with landscaping experience who enjoys a hands-on role leading a small team, takes pride in maintaining high standards, and is committed to working safely in an industrial environment.
Responsibilities
As Landscaping labourer, you will:
Follow safe working procedures at all times.
Operate a variety of landscaping equipment, including:
- Ride-on and pedestrian mowers
- Brush cutters and strimmers
- Hedge trimmers
- Chainsaws
- Other grounds maintenance machinery
Conduct routine equipment checks and ensure machinery is maintained in a safe and serviceable condition.
Comply with company reporting procedures (i.e, reporting hazards, near misses etc)
Maintain high standards of housekeeping across work areas.
Support additional labouring and site service activities where required.
Represent Runtech professionally while working on customer sites.
Operate a variety of landscaping equipment, including:
Skills
- Previous experience in landscaping, grounds maintenance, or a similar environment.
- Strong commitment to health, safety, and environmental standards.
- Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
- Good communication skills.
- Physically fit and capable of carrying out manual duties.
- Maintain high standards of work.
Desirable Qualifications
- CCNSG Safety Passport.
- Full UK driving licence with a maximum of 6 penalty points.
Additional Skills (Advantageous)
- Experience operating vacuum tankers or similar specialist vehicles.
- WJA Water Jetting qualifications and experience.

- Competitive hourly rate of £13.25 per hour (paid Weekly)
- 40-hour basic working week
- Monday to Friday, 7:45am – 4:10pm
