Canford Law is seeking a talented Paralegal to join our growing legal team as part of an exciting new initiative within the Canford Group.
This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated Paralegal to join a developing area of the business, supporting a team of Solicitors with a complex and varied caseload of contentious property matters across the County Court and First-tier Tribunal.
The successful candidate will support Solicitors in managing a broad range of property litigation matters, including service charge and ground rent debt recovery (residential and commercial), breaches of covenant, and general Landlord & Tenant matters.
You will manage your own caseload under supervision, while providing valuable support to the wider team on complex matters and gaining exposure to a specialist area of litigation.
Key Responsibilities
- Supporting Solicitors with a varied caseload of contentious property litigation matters.
- Handling defended service charge, ground rent, and possession matters relating to residential property.
- Reviewing claims, assessing the merits of defences and/or counterclaims, and assisting with providing advice to clients and agents.
- Reviewing breach of covenant matters and progressing cases in line with client instructions.
- Ensuring compliance with Court and Tribunal deadlines and procedural requirements.
- Providing general Landlord & Tenant support and advice to clients as required.
- Maintaining regular communication and reporting to clients and/or agents.
- Providing internal support and advice where required.
- Maintaining effective case management, including diarising key dates and ensuring accurate database updates.
- Undertaking any other reasonable duties as requested by your Line Manager.

Skills & Experience
- A Levels or equivalent Level 3 qualification required; a degree in Law or equivalent legal qualification is desirable.
- Previous experience in a claims handling, litigation, or dispute resolution environment is desirable.
- Experience handling high-volume or bulk claims is advantageous.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and competing priorities.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong attention to detail with a focus on accuracy and efficiency.
- Experience in civil litigation, particularly money claims and/or property litigation, is desirable.
- Knowledge of property litigation, breaches of covenant, and general Landlord & Tenant matters is desirable.
- Strong legal drafting skills.
- Ability to communicate clearly and effectively with clients, colleagues, and stakeholders at all levels.
