We are actively seeking an apprentice bricklayer to join our growing team at Terron Construction Ltd. Having built up an excellent reputation for our high standards of work, we are looking to recruit and train bricklayers to the high standards that we are known for. Unlike many bricklaying apprenticeships advertised, this role will involve plenty of “trowel work” and you will be actively encourage to learn trowel skills from day 1. This role is ideal for a school leaver or someone who has already done a level 1 bricklaying course.
Applicants MUST be physically fit and up for the demands of a outdoor labour intensive career. Experience in some form of trade or outdoor labouring work is preferred but not essential if you are certain that you are up to the demands. A keen eye for detail is a must and applicants should be able to give examples of “hands on” work or tasks that they have completed in the past.
The apprentice will be required to travel to site (currently Culcheth, Warrington) or be at an agreed pick up location in Appleton, Warrington for a lift to work (leaving at approx 6.50am and returning at approx 4.45pm) Working hours are mon-fri 7.30- 4.30. They will also be required to travel to a mutually chosen college one day per week.
Applicants must have at least a 4 (C) in english or maths in order to be enrolled in to college.
The applicant will be responsible for maintaining a clean and safe work area, loading out brick, block and mortar, occasionally mixing mortar, laying mortar beds, jointing up, installing insulation and brick/block laying. This role is physically demanding so the applicant must have a high level of fitness and be able to carry heavy loads.
