Berkshire Healthcare Foundation Trust has an exciting vacancy for a part time staff nurse to join the West Berkshire health visiting team.
We are looking for a highly organised, motivated staff nurse to join the team to support the health visiting service in West Berkshire. The team are responsible for providing a service to children and their families aged 0-5 that live within the West Berkshire boundary.
The ideal candidate will have good organisational, IT and communication skills with a passion for the health and well-being of children aged 0-5 years and their families.
The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work as part of a supportive and friendly team where they will be supported to develop in their role.
You must be a driver and have use of a car.
Work with the HV team to achieve Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), with a focus on 6–8 week postnatal contacts.
Provide support to families in a range of community settings under the direction of the Health Visitor, considering the diverse needs of the community.
Plan and deliver health-enhancing activities for children and families through groups, child health clinics, developmental review clinics and individual support.
Support families using the Solihull approach model in behaviour management, parenting skills and programmes of care for vulnerable families.
Support breastfeeding and parent infant relationships in line with the Unicef UK Baby Friendly Initiative standards.
Support the text-based Chat Health service, offering health advice to parents.
Maintain knowledge of local safeguarding policies and procedures.
Work in partnership with Children's Centres, Early Years settings and other agencies to provide integrated support and promote the health and wellbeing of children and families.
Fulfil professional responsibilities within the team under the direction of the Health Visitor.
Act as a practice supervisor for pre-registration nursing students, new staff and placement students, providing a supportive learning environment.
Participate in clinical, management and child protection supervision.
Provide evidence-based care, support the development of others' practice, contribute to teaching and training, and work within the staff nurse competency framework.
