Job Summary
We are seeking a reliable and experienced 7.5 tonne delivery driver to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for safely delivering goods to various locations, ensuring timely and professional service. This role requires a strong focus on safety, excellent driving skills, and the ability to handle deliveries efficiently across different routes. A background in commercial driving and experience with flatbed vehicles are highly desirable.
Duties
- Safely operate a 7.5 tonne curtain sided lorry, adhering to all road safety regulations and company policies
- Plan delivery routes efficiently to meet schedules and optimise fuel consumption
- Load and unload goods, ensuring items are secured properly during transit
- Deliver goods to customers in a professional and courteous manner, maintaining excellent customer service standards
- Complete all necessary paperwork accurately, including delivery notes and logs
- Conduct routine vehicle inspections before and after shifts to ensure safety and compliance
- Report any vehicle issues or delivery discrepancies promptly to management
- Maintain a clean and organised vehicle at all times
Experience
- Previous experience as a delivery driver, ideally within a commercial environment
- Proven ability to operate flatbed vehicles safely and efficiently
- Strong driving skills with a clean driving licence suitable for 7.5 tonne vehicles
- Knowledge of local roads, routes, and delivery procedures
- Experience with commercial driving regulations and safety standards is preferred
- Ability to handle physical tasks involved in loading/unloading goods with care and attention to detail
Pay: Up to £29,500.00 per year
