Working Hours: Ideally 8:30am–5:30pm (Morning shifts of 8:30am–1:30pm also available)

A warm, welcoming nursery in Oxford (OX4) is looking for a caring and enthusiastic Nursery Assistant to join their dedicated team on a flexible basis. The Role
As a Nursery Assistant, you'll play an important role in supporting children's learning, development and wellbeing throughout the day. Working alongside experienced Early Years professionals, you'll help create engaging activities, encourage children's independence and ensure every child feels safe, happy and supported.
No two days are the same, making this an incredibly rewarding opportunity for someone who enjoys building positive relationships and helping young children thrive.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide a safe, caring and stimulating environment for all children.
- Support children's learning through play, storytelling, music, outdoor learning and creative activities.
- Assist with daily routines including meals, personal care, toileting, nappy changing and rest times.
- Help prepare and tidy learning activities and play spaces throughout the day.
- Encourage positive behaviour, confidence and social development.
- Build warm, professional relationships with children, parents and colleagues.
- Follow safeguarding, health & safety and nursery policies at all times.
- Work collaboratively as part of a friendly and supportive nursery team.
About You
We're looking for someone who is:
- Caring, patient and enthusiastic.
- Passionate about supporting young children's development.
- Able to work well as part of a team.
- Reliable, flexible and willing to learn.
- Confident communicating with children, parents and colleagues.
- Previous nursery, childcare or Early Years experience is desirable but not essential for the right candidate.
- A relevant childcare qualification is beneficial but not essential.
