Our client is a well-established and rapidly growing electrical and renewable energy company delivering high-quality Solar PV, battery storage, EV charging and electrical solutions across Cumbria.
Due to continued expansion, they are seeking an experienced Solar PV Electrician to join their growing team. This is an excellent opportunity for a fully qualified electrician with hands-on Solar PV experience who enjoys working independently, taking ownership of installations, and contributing to the UK's growing renewable energy sector.
You'll work on a variety of domestic and commercial projects, installing, commissioning and maintaining renewable energy systems while delivering exceptional standards of workmanship and customer service.
Key Responsibilities
- Install and commission Solar PV systems
- Install and commission battery storage systems
- Carry out electrical work associated with renewable energy installations
- Complete domestic and commercial electrical installation projects
- Install EV charging systems where required
- Conduct inspection and testing duties, including EICRs, certification and fault finding (where qualified)
- Diagnose and rectify electrical and renewable energy system faults
- Ensure all work is completed safely and in line with current regulations and industry standards
- Work independently and take responsibility for site-based installations
- Complete installation records, test certificates and project documentation accurately
- Communicate professionally with customers and stakeholders
- Maintain company vehicles, tools and equipment to a high standard
- Represent the business professionally at all times
- Participate in ongoing renewable energy training and development
Essential Requirements
- Proven Solar PV installation experience
- Experience installing and/or commissioning battery storage systems
- NVQ Level 3 in Electrical Installation (or equivalent)
- 18th Edition Qualification
- Minimum five years of electrical installation or engineering experience
- Full UK Driving Licence
- Strong understanding of domestic and commercial electrical systems
- Confident working independently on installations
- Excellent fault-finding and problem-solving abilities
- Strong attention to detail
- Commitment to health, safety and quality standards
- Professional customer-facing communication skills
Desirable Skills & Qualifications
- Inspection & Testing Qualification (2391 or equivalent)
- Recognised Solar PV qualification
- Battery storage qualification
- EV charging installation experience
- Experience across both domestic and commercial Solar PV projects
- Familiarity with a range of Solar PV inverter and battery storage systems
- Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings and technical documentation
