We’re looking for a Construction Manager to lead the safe, efficient, and high-quality delivery of EV charging site builds, overseeing all on-site construction activities. Construction Manager
Role Overview:
The Construction Manager is responsible for leading the safe, efficient, and high-quality delivery of our EV charging sites. The role oversees all on-site construction activity, managing contractors and Independent Connection Providers (ICPs) to ensure projects are completed safely, on time, within budget, and to the company’s technical and quality standards. This role will focus on our sites based in the North of England.
Key Responsibilities:

Project Delivery: Lead the construction phase of ultra-rapid EV charging sites from mobilisation through to handover.
- Project design development: Provide support to the development team using skills, knowledge and experience to effectively review and advise on buildability and constructability of new sites.
- Contractor Management: Manage and coordinate contractors, ICPs, and suppliers to ensure effective site execution and compliance with scope and specifications.
- Health, Safety & Environment: Ensure all works are delivered to the highest HSE standards, maintaining compliance with CDM Regulations and company policies.
- Programme & Budget Control: Monitor progress, costs, and resource allocation, proactively addressing issues to maintain delivery targets.
- Quality Assurance: Oversee construction quality, ensuring works meet design intent, standards, and client expectations.
- Stakeholder Coordination: Work closely with development, grid, and design teams to ensure smooth project transitions and timely site delivery.
- Reporting: Provide clear and accurate updates on site progress against programme, risks, budgetary and performance metrics.
Skills & Experience:

Proven experience delivering multi-site construction projects - ideally in EV infrastructure, utilities, or renewable energy.
- Strong contractor and ICP management experience.
- Excellent knowledge of construction HSE requirements and CDM Regulations.
- Strong organisational and leadership skills with a focus on delivery and accountability.
- Ability to manage multiple sites and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel to sites as required.
- Effective communicator with the ability to build positive relationships across Osprey Department, external contractors, and all other stakeholders.
- Collaborative and solution-oriented, able to anticipate challenges and drive practical resolutions.
- Calm and decisive under pressure, with a proactive approach to safety, quality, and problem-solving.
Desirable:

Experience with EV charging or electrical infrastructure projects.
- Relevant qualifications in construction management, engineering, or project management.
- SMSTS or equivalent site management certification
