Job Summary
We are looking for a reliable, organised and experienced Pharmacy Dispenser to join our friendly and professional community pharmacy team.
The successful candidate will play an important role in the day-to-day running of the dispensary, helping us provide a safe, efficient and high-quality service to our patients.
Previous experience working within a community pharmacy is essential for this position.
We are looking for someone who is confident working in a busy pharmacy environment, has excellent attention to detail and takes pride in providing a professional and friendly service to patients.
Both full-time and part-time applicants will be considered.
Key Responsibilities
- Accurately dispensing NHS and private prescriptions under the supervision of the pharmacist
- Processing prescriptions efficiently using the pharmacy PMR system
- Labelling and assembling prescriptions accurately
- Managing prescription collections and helping maintain an organised dispensary workflow
- Ordering, receiving and putting away medicines and pharmacy stock
- Carrying out stock checks and monitoring expiry dates
- Communicating professionally with patients, GP surgeries and other healthcare professionals
- Responding appropriately to patient queries and referring clinical queries to the pharmacist
- Supporting the pharmacist and wider pharmacy team with the smooth day-to-day running of the pharmacy
- Maintaining patient confidentiality and following pharmacy SOPs and relevant legal and professional requirements
- Supporting pharmacy services and undertaking other duties appropriate to the role
About You
Essential
- Previous community pharmacy experience
- Experience dispensing NHS prescriptions
- Confident and accurate when labelling and assembling prescriptions
- Excellent attention to detail
- Good organisational skills and the ability to prioritise in a busy dispensary
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
- Reliable, professional and able to work effectively as part of a team
- A positive and patient-focused approach
A recognised Level 2 Pharmacy Services Assistant/Dispensing qualification or equivalent would be advantageous. Applicants currently working towards an appropriate qualification will also be considered, provided they have previous community pharmacy experience.
Experience using pharmacy PMR systems would also be advantageous.
