Overview
We are looking for the right person to join our hard working team as a Barista/Waitress. The successful candidate must be friendly and approachable at all times providing an excellent service for our many regulars and new customers alike. They must also be happy to work as part of a larger team in a busy cafe atmosphere.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and serve a variety of coffees, teas and other beverages.
- Take customer orders accurately, ensuring prompt and friendly service. Take customer transaction efficiently.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the coffee station and dining area in compliance with food safety standards.
- Assist with food preparation and assembly when necessary. Serve cakes and other snacks.
- Ensure timely delivery of orders to customers, managing multiple tables efficiently through effective time management.
- Uphold high standards of food safety, hygiene, and customer service at all times.
Qualifications
- Previous barista experience or familiarity with coffee preparation techniques is preferred though not essential.
- Strong understanding of food safety practices and hygiene standards.
- Experience serving customers in a fast-paced setting is highly desirable.
- Ability to perform basic math calculations accurately for transactions.
- Excellent time management skills to handle busy periods smoothly.
- Capable of standing and walking for extended periods.
- Reliable team player with a positive attitude eager to learn and grow within the role.
Days are flexible to fit around the individual but will usually consist of two weekdays per week and 2 or 3 weekend days per month. The usual working day is 9am until 5.15pm but can be flexible if it is possible. This position is not suitable to fit around education. Cv's will not be considered without a covering letter.
Pay: From £12.71 per hour
