Joining The Fertility Foundation as part of our dynamic Retail Team, you will play a vital role in raising the funds that enable us to support couples and individuals across the UK who need financial assistance to access IVF treatment. Through your contribution, you will help turn the dream of starting a family into a reality for those facing the challenges of infertility.
We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Shop Manager at our Hoddesdon store to oversee daily operations in our retail environment. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, exceptional organisational abilities, and a passion for delivering outstanding customer service.
As a Shop Manager, you will be responsible for managing staff, ensuring the shop runs smoothly, and driving sales while maintaining a positive shopping experience for our customers.
Our retail teams work on a rota to meet the needs of the shop, so flexibility is essential. This role includes weekend work and follows a 5 days over 6 shift pattern.
Responsibilities
- Manage day-to-day operations of the shop, ensuring high standards of service and cleanliness are maintained.
- Supervise and lead a team of sales associates, providing guidance and support to foster a productive work environment.
- Train new staff members on shop policies, procedures, and customer service excellence.
- Implement effective time management strategies to optimise staff schedules and enhance productivity.
- Maintain inventory levels by overseeing stock management and placing orders as necessary.
- Develop sales strategies to meet targets while actively engaging with customers to promote products.
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations within the shop.
- Handle customer inquiries and complaints with professionalism, demonstrating excellent phone etiquette.
- Foster a welcoming atmosphere that encourages repeat business and customer loyalty.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in retail management or a similar supervisory role is essential.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and manage a diverse team effectively.
- Excellent organisational skills with keen attention to detail.
- Proficient in time management with the ability to prioritise tasks effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong sales skills with a track record of achieving targets in a retail setting.
- Exceptional communication skills, both verbal and written, to engage with customers and staff alike.
- A positive attitude towards problem-solving and adaptability in handling various situations.
